A funny thing happened…
It sounds like the start of a movie title…a funny thing happened on the way ..to writing this.
I have been researching the Tariffs that have been announced, to follow what it actually means, to see if there is an historical pattern, and how this will affect the “Canadian “ film industry.
I know tariffs are not funny, but I was watching “Chain Reaction” with Keanu Reeves and three things from the Canadian Co-Operative Project jumped out of the screen at me.
In 1947 the Canadian Co-Operative Project was proposed to set tariffs on US movies shown in Canada. The Project only lasted for 11 years but it seems that some points still linger.
